Kufri is derived from the local word Kufr which means the Lake. Kufri is about 13 km from Shimla city. The picturesque landscape and the huge amount of snowfall in winters make Kufri an ideal place for families and couples. Here is a brief description on how to reach the place.

The vast land of Kufri offers different adventurous sports. Kufri is bestowed with all the essential natural beauty. In the year 1819, the British discovered this hill station. It was one of their favourite hill resorts in India. The spectacular view of lofty Himalayan mountains and the breathtaking view of the land will surely win your heart. Kufri houses the well-known Himalayan Wildlife Zoo. Antelopes, felines and birds like Himalayan moral, the official bird of Himachal, are the major attractions of the Zoo. Jubbarbhati Aiport is the nearest one which is located 20 km away from Kufri. Frequent flights are available from Delhi to Jubbarbhati Airport, Shimla. For international tourists connecting flights are there from Delhi Airport.

Shimla is the nearest railway station which is well-connected with other major cities and towns of the country. Just check the available trains from your city and plan your trip accordingly. The Himachal State bus service well-connects the state. From any town of Himachal you will get buses to Kufri. Besides, taxis, cabs and autos are available as local transport.
