Most people who go on holidays in Florence end up staying in bland hotels, not knowing that there are far better alternatives. If you are holidaying with your family ora group of friends, renting a villa in Florence can be an excellent and cost-effective idea.

1. Villas for rent in Florence can be affordable

Because most villas are rented on a weekly basis, the price might seem a high on first look. But keep in mind that you are renting an entire house and all of its amenities—not just one room. For groups, staying in a villa for rent in Florence can be good value for money and might be cheaper than booking multiple rooms in a hotel. Divide the rental cost by the number of people staying, and you will likely be pleasantly surprised. You may end up spending much less per head than you would in a hotel.

2. Villas offer much more space and privacy for your money.

The most obvious advantage of renting a villa instead of staying in a hotel is the space. A villa by nature is alarge house—and this can be a huge advantage for families with children. A sprawling Florentine villa gives everyone some private space to get away, relax and relish some alone time. A villa also gives you entertainment space to hold dinners and parties. Some of the most luxurious Florence villas for rent even have private pools, covered terraces with fantastic views, covered parking spaces, and full kitchens that are perfect for throwing a soiree.

3. You get all the amenities and services of a hotel.

Villas in Florence have everything you can expect of a luxury hotel, including air-conditioning, heating, Wi-Fi, and Satellite TV. You can also expect luxury villas to come with services such as housekeeping. Pool towels, bath towels, and linens will regularly be changed, usually mid-week, and the pool is cleaned daily.

Of course, you have to be book wisely to get the best rates and truly make renting a Florentine villa a cost-effective choice. It’s certainly possible to enjoy a villa for a week or so if you know how to get the best value.

To save money, book in advance. Villas (particularly in Tuscany)get booked in the summer. Start your search online at least a few months before your arrival to get early-bird rates. You can also shave thousands off the bill if you book in the spring or fall, avoiding the peak months of July and August when availability is much trickier and prices are predictably higher. If you want to get half price, try mid-April to May, or October to December.
