Summary: Women do not always undergo or feel the classic symptoms of heart attack like crushing pain in the chest that sinks down to the arm.

When a human undergoes heart attack, it may not feel exactly the same among men and women. Women do not always undergo or feel the classic symptoms of heart attack like crushing pain in the chest that sinks down to the arm. Women will certainly experience such symptoms, but at times, these can be absolutely vague or even silent. These are some of the common symptoms of heart attack among women:

Discomfort or chest pain: This is the most common symptom, but at times, it may be different in women. It may at times, give a feeling of fullness or squeezing. This pain may not mandatorily be on the left side. It can occur anywhere in the chest.

Pain in jaws, neck, back or arm(s): This symptom occurs most commonly among women, than men. Women might expect the pain only in the chest, thus ignoring the jaws or neck pain. Any symptom that is unexpected or sudden or gradual, can lead to heart attack. Sometimes, this pain can wake you up from sleep as well. Such a pain should never be ignored.

Stomach Pain: Cardiologists suggest that abdominal pain is one of the most common and silent symptom of heart attack among women. Sometimes, it may feel like excessive pressure on the abdomen, as if an elephant is sitting there. It is said to be a silent symptom because women may confuse this pain with stomach ulcer, flu or heartburn.

Light-headedness, nausea and breath shortness: If women experience trouble in breathing without any explained cause, or there is a sudden surge of nausea and light-headedness, you need to seek immediate medical advice since this can be a cause of heart attack. Cardiologists explain this condition as something like a person has run through a marathon without even moving.

Fatigue: A lot of women experience extreme tiredness without any cause and this is another silent or hidden symptom of heart attack. In case, you usually do not sweat like this usually, you should seek immediate medical advice from your physician. In such a case, you will get tired by simply walking around in the bathroom.

Sweating: Breaking out sudden cold sweat or nervousness is another symptom of heart attack among women. It will be more or less like stress-related sweat, but is usually not from the same cause.

However, women also need to understand that every woman does not observe the same symptoms. Some of you might get these symptoms very prominently, while the others will get it in a different way. The bottom line is that you need to ensure that any of these symptoms or an unexplained change in the body is not dropped. Heart attack, unless and until it is a cardiac arrest, is often indicative initially.

Women often simply miss these hints and therefore it is vital to pick the signs and not ignore them. Immediate medical advice can help you save your heart and restore its condition. In order to ensure that your heart remains healthy, make sure you have proper physical exercise for at least half hour a day.
