You can lie down on the beach with sunscreen slathered all over your body and enjoy the sunbath. As the rays are mellow, you can enjoy sunbath without worrying about any damage to your skin.

Camel Race

Dubai is not only famous for world's richest horse race, but also for camel race that is held from November to March. As the winter subdues the temperature, the desert sands become supple and one can walk bare feet. Camel racing is a traditional sport in Dubai and has been provided with a modern touch to make it more exciting. Watching 60 camels running down the track to reach the finishing point and hearing the deafening noise of the crowd cheering and yelling for their favorite one to appear first is a heart-pumping and enjoyable event.

Come November, and the Global Village, which is a largest entertainment project in the world, transforms itself into a biggest shopping arena. The open-air theme park turns into a shopping and festival destination and is thronged by tourists every year. Dubai International Film Festival

The Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF) for this year is over, but you can catch it next year. The DIFF is held each year from December 7 to 14 at the grand Madinat Jumeirah. During this festival, celluloid stars from all over the world descend on Dubai. The whole arena turns out to be a starry event. The best thing about the festival is that even common man, who loves films, can book a ticket and enjoy the show. UAE National Day

The UAE National Day is celebrated on 2nd December to mark the merger of seven emirates and the foundation day of the country under the leadership of the first president of the UAE, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. The festival goes on for three days starting from 1st December to 3rd of December. Each day of the celebration offers something different to visitors. The first day holds dhow race at Heritage Village followed by aerobatic show. The second day is for an official ceremony, which is held at Zayed Sports City followed by several cultural events. The last day is reserved for musical concerts and fireworks with an official car parade.

Christmas Celebration

Christmas is the time to let the spirit soak in a religious fervor. Dubai lifts all sorts of ban on drinking and revelry in the spirit of the festival. The city shows great religious tolerance during this global festival and turns itself into a shopping and entertainment paradise. The regional radio stations play Christmas songs in English, malls and hotels are decorated with lavish displays, and the streets are lighted up with Christmas trees. Churches in the city are also decorated to feel the pious event. Even nightclubs make special lightning arrangements and drinks to let customers drench in the celebration.

New Year Celebration

The way Dubai celebrates New Year is beyond one's imagination. The excessive and fanciful arrangements done by the city at this time is simply mind blowing. Dubai Shopping Festival

The Dubai Shopping Festival begins on 1st January and ends on 1st February every year. This festival is a retail celebration with lots of discounts and offers. It is a large shopping and entertainment event that takes visitors into different world. The event is also best to enjoy performance of celebrities. Fashion designers from distant corners exhibit their collections to grab fame and recognition for their brands. There are also shows held for visitors to participate and win gifts. Dubai Tennis Championship

The tennis tournament that started in 1993 has grown exponentially in terms of fame and money. Local and international tennis players participate in this sporting extravaganza for the title. Players participate in single and as a pair to test their skills against the best names in the tennis world. This championship starts from February and lasts up to March. The venue for the event is Al Garhoud.

Dubai World Cup

The Dubai World Cup is the richest horse race in the world held at Meydan Racecourse on the last Saturday of March each year. This biggest sporting occasion sees nine high-voltage races divided into Group 1 and Group 2. The winner fetches a whooping price of US$30m. Besides the races, the opening and closing ceremony of this grand sporting festival is something worth witnessing.
