An active and vibrant engineering education environment benefits civic, economic, and intellectual activity everywhere in the country. Engineering graduates at the top engineering universities in Rajasthan are at the forefront of our national effort to seamlessly integrate scientific and engineering principles to help create products and processes that will go a long way in contributing to the economic growth of India. The scope of difference that engineering education can make is vast and more so important on a meta level. For example, take the case of advances in medical care, or even the enhancement of national security systems, creating processes for ecologically sound resource management… the list of possibilities is endless.

This is the reason why, students who graduate from top engineering colleges in Jaipur bring highly prized skills into play across a number of industries that are vital to the progress of India as a nation. And not every student ends up working in a corporate, some move on to conduct research that results in socially or economically valuable technological applications that have wide implications for societal good. Other students may help produce and manage the technological innovations in the rapidly evolving e-commerce and app space, further accelerating the pace of change and growth in these sunrise sectors. And these are not the only sectors, students may get into fields that require advanced analytical abilities and knowledge such as health care, financial services, law, and government.

The important point to note is that in everything they do they bring about a diversity of viewpoints and subject specialisations that contributes to their ability to think in a different manner to create breakthroughs that lead to effective innovation. Today is a time when technological innovations are basically coupled with virtually every aspect of the Indian society. It is important to work towards developing a scientific and technically literate society that values the ideas of innovation and relentless progress.

However, broad indicators of shortcomings in developing technical competencies within the current corpus of engineering graduates are indicative of the scale of the challenge at hand. Most engineering graduates when they join corporates need at least a year of training for them to become industry-ready. That is a huge drain in terms of man-hours and productivity. Essentially, after one year of training they are at square one from the perspective of the organisation. That is, they are capable of being assigned the most junior level tasks. This must change for the bigger picture to change.
