With winter and spring giving way to the summer’s heat, people all over the country will head out to enjoy the fresh air at a local beach or swimming pool on a semi-regular basis. If you’re one of those sun seekers, it’s important to pack properly for full enjoyment of your time in the great outdoors. While all natural sunscreen should rank highly on your packing list, here is everything that you’ll need to maximize your weekend relaxation before it’s time to head back to the office on Monday.

Towel

A towel can be much more than a simple device to dry of from your time in the water, as many people use this piece of fluffy fabric as a home base to mark territory on the beach or denote that a lounge chair is taken. Even if you aren’t planning on swimming, you can use this cloth to wipe away those beads of sweat before they drip into your eyes. With the pleasant smell of your organic sunscreen soaked into the material as you stretch out under the sun, there can be no doubts that summer has truly arrived.

Reading Material

If you’re planning an extended stay at the pool or beach, you’re going to want something to help pass the time, and there’s nothing better than escaping into the pages of your favorite novel. As you read through your story, the stresses of the work week will melt away with the help of the soothing warmth of the summer sun.

Skin Protection

When preparing your beach bag, there’s nothing more important than reliable protection from harmful solar radiation. Even if it’s not particularly hot or sunny outside, you could still end up with a nasty sunburn and associated cellular damage as the sun’s energy penetrates the cloud cover to wreak havoc on your body. A good all natural sunscreen is your best bet to respond to the onslaught of damaging ultraviolet rays, and unlike chemical formulas, you won’t have to reapply as often.

Snacks

If you’ve secured the perfect spot at your pool or beach, the last thing you want to do is give it up when your stomach starts rumbling for lunch. If you pack a cooler full of your favorite natural snacks and drinks, you’ll have everything that you need to sustain yourself throughout your time in the sand or on the lounger.

Sunglasses

You’ve already taken care to protect your skin from the sun’s radiation, but don’t forget to provide a way to prevent solar damage to your eyes. Not only will you look cool while wearing your favorite sunglasses, but you can also prevent the development of facial wrinkles that would normally develop due to constant squinting.

Time for Fun in the Sun

Now that you have all natural sunscreen and everything else that you need for a day at the beach, the only other thing you need to do is jump in the car and hit the road. You work hard for the opportunity to enjoy the weekend, so don’t do anything that could keep you from having a great time!
