It has already been shown that using the right scents at various facilities can improve the way people behave and perform while in those facilities. For instance, it makes people more comfortable at hotels, improves people’s sense of performance at the gyms and makes people think they have waited for a short duration in queues at the banks. That has led some marketers to exploit what is now called "scent marketing" or "scent branding".

According to one olfactory scientist, people sense smell first and then that information is relayed to the motion and memory brain centers. If the induced response is positive due to the smell, this is helpful for marketers since they are always trying to connect emotionally with customers. Many people use ambient scenting today: it involves filling a space with targeted smell. But that is related to scent branding, which involves identifying a company’s signature scent for its brand.

Scent branding is popular among small businesses, particularly grooming centers and salons: they are used to improve the authentic barbershop experience. In scent branding, you can also use diffusers to diffuse certain smells and achieve targeted end results. Some companies use other strategies such as burning ocean scented candles to evoke certain experiences.

However, companies must be careful when incorporating scent branding: some scents, for instance, could trigger problems among people with allergies, including triggering throat closure, burning eyes or headaches.

How then should you choose the right scent?

The step begins by deciding one thing you think your buyers want to emotionally feel, otherwise you might end up tuning the customers off. The way out of it could be doing some market research about it first. You could sample pure orange scents then blends of orange, basil and green tea. However, there are many aromas proven to cause positive responses among people who smell them. Thus said, there are many readily available aromas, even made of natural plant extracts such as olive and lavender, which you can buy from the shops today.

These are used together with aroma diffuser machine including the easy to use electronic and electric fragrance diffusers.

With essential oil and an electronic diffuser, you can have your clients enjoy the effects of scents being dispersed in the targeted space. Many people are familiar with oil and aroma diffusers because they have largely been popular in aromatherapy, which dwells on treating certain health conditions using scents and aromas.

Some electronic and electric fragrance diffusers allow you to add drops of water to mix with oil so that as it disperses the oil, it will disperse the water too, thus can help add some more moisture in a very dry environment.

When looking for an electric fragrance diffuser or aroma diffuser machine, consider designs that are meant for office use. Some diffusers will also shut off after some hours of use, say six hours, or after they run out of water. Other diffusers use ultrasonic technology instead of heat to diffuse oils into the space; others have simple controls that have LED lights. These controls help in changing mist frequency.
