Your home is incomplete without a lovely garden with all the favourite plants to beautify your home with greenery. You take so much of care to maintain them in healthy condition, but what happens when you need to relocate. Plants are delicate and need to be handled with special care if you wish to move them to your new home.

Plants are usually not covered by insurance and hence you need to be more careful while moving plants. If you are relocating and not yet planned about plant care, here are some useful tips to guide you through a safe relocation of your plants.

1. Make Sure That Plants Can Be Moved: If you are taking for granted that your mover will relocate plants just like other items, you are inviting trouble. All movers have different policies and may not include moving plants or may restrict carrying certain plants. So, you might need to arrange for anexclusive plant moving company to relocate your plants.

2. Early Preparations: You need to make sure at least a couple of weeks ago that your plants are in top health so that they can go through the toughest phase of moving. A diseased or weak plant may not survive and thus you need to feed them with good fertilizers before relocating.

Stone pots can be tough to handle and thus you would be better of repeating your plants in light plastic pots. Plants cannot be stacked over one another and hence can occupy a lot of space. Consider pruning your plants (if feasible) to make it easier to relocate.

3. Before The Movers Truck Arrives: On the day when you are waiting for the movers truck to pick your plants, make sure that none of the plants is waterlogged or draining excess water. This can ruin other items and may even make your plants rot. The simplest way to ensure this is to avoid watering your plants heavily a day before moving. Make sure that you tell the movers about the boxes that contain plants so that they handle them with extra care.

Packing your plants wisely can minimize chances of damage significantly and you can also take help of the packaging services by the movers. Large plants can be simply wrapped in bags loose enough to let them breathe and stay alive. For the garden plants, it is best to uproot them carefully along with root ball just before the truck arrives to ensure that they go through minimum disruption.

Do not remove the mud and put them directly into plastic bags. Add extra mud if necessary to make sure that none of the roots is exposed to air. For the long climbing plants, you need to tie up all the branches together to give them strength and protection.

4. Unloading Your Plants: Once all your stuff, including plants, arrives at your desired destination, you must sort plants at the top priority. Make sure that you replant all the uprooted plants immediately into the ground or pots.

Plants may not be covered in the insurance but reputed movers such as thepackersmovers.com can make sure to suggest you packers and movers that do not let your plants suffer any significant damage during relocation. Reputed movers also help you in packing your plants carefully and handling them carefully to offer you a complete peace of mind.
