Apple has introduced its all-new version of the operating system called MacOS Sierra. It is designed to make the life of users easier. macOS Sierra is the next-generation Mac operating system. It was unveiled at the Worldwide Developers Conference on June 13. Apple has chosen to do away with the OS X name in favor of the new "macOS". Mac operating system is named ‘macOS’ to bring the Mac OS in line with watchOS, iOS, and tvOS. Top 5 features of macOS are discussed here.

Enjoy music differently: Apple has redesigned the Apple Music section with an easy interface in MacOS Sierra. It is redesigned to make it easier to search new music to listen to. Additional tabs such as "Library", "Browse", "For You", and "Radio" are added for better content discovery. A new tab "Search" is added to make searching for albums and songs quicker. The new look focuses mainly on album art simple aesthetic featuring bold headlines and lots of white space is added. Now you can also view the lyrics of songs while listening to them on MiniPlayer.

Access files on iCloud: Those files which are stored either in the documents folder or on the desktop are automatically synced to iCloud. Thus you can access these files on other Macs or on iOS devices. When you log into an iCloud account on other Mac devices you can access the files instantly. On the other hand, files located on the desktop or in document folder in iPhone or iPad could be accessed through the iCloud Drive App.

You can access files on Windows as well through the iCloud for Windows app. To access files you need to log into iCloud.com, from here you could access files on all devices that support a web browser.

Optimized Storage: This is a new feature designed to automatically free up storage space on your Mac device. It will free up storage space when a Mac’s hard drive or SSD run short of storage room. It removes infrequently used an item from the Mac storage space and shift them to iCloud. It also sends reminders to Mac users to delete used app installers and clear out duplicate downloads, logs, caches and more. Thus we know that there are duplicate files in the system then we can delete them using duplicate photo finder tool or duplicate file finder tool.

The files that are moved to cloud storage(iCloud) include ePub books that have been read, iTunes U Courses, unused Mac App store apps, full-resolution photos, old image & text files, old documents & mail attachments and more. Certain data that can be permanently deleted includes web caches, Music caches, trash item after a specific time, fault & error logs, thumbnails, inactive iTunes downloads, old iPhone backups and more.

It is designed to display those photos that you might have forgotten long ago like past trips etc. It works intelligently and can group photos based on different attributes like location, time, and even the objects and people in the photo.
