Gone are the days when weddings were a mere celebration. Nowadays weddings are a colossal affair and a melding spot for fashion of numerous kinds. With various people, myriads of personal styles also come together. Hence, wedding wear has become an integral category of fashion clothing for designers. With changing trends wedding preferences have also changed and now there are couture lines created for particularly for wedding seasons. Here, we are going to look at such wedding wear trends for the upcoming season:

Long Flared Lehengas

Introduced by Indian celebrity fashion designer Manish Malhotra, this one is a hot favorite amongst the crowds for their trailing appearance. These lehengas are slightly longer than the regular lehenga and highly flared which gives them a voluminous look. Heavy embroidery and distinctive designs are characteristic of these long flared style lehenga cholis.

Pastel Hues

This is a refreshing change for those who are little too shy of bright colors like red. Although red has been the traditional wedding color for ages, it’s never too late to be a little daring and try something unusual. Since it’s the biggest occasion of one’s life, you can manage to be remembered for being different by simply choosing an atypical color that helps you shine on your special day. A whole range of pastel colored lehengas are introduced by Indian fashion designer Neeta Lulla and are immensely liked by the fashionistas. Pastel pink, lime yellow and peach are just some of the colors that have gained popularity in the recent times.

Multichrome

Multichrome lehengas can be another option for you if you are not so into red but don’t want to try something as soft as pastel shades either. Multichromes, as the name suggests, are created from different colors and shades put together into one colorful palette. Seen first on the ramp by Indian designer Ritu kumar who is famous for her use of multichromatic hues into a single dress, this style has created quite a ripple. Each of her creation carries shades of pink, purple, orange, red and so on. If the forecasts are to be believed, this is going to be a huge trend in the upcoming wedding season for there is a number of ways in which you can play with so many colors using many fabrics. You can sport multichrome lehenga choli with layers of different hues as well.

Traditional Fabrics

If you have always wanted to wear that gorgeous silk saree from your mother’s wardrobe, now is the perfect time to do so. After a long period of fancy and flowy lehengas, now Indian designers are creating Indian dresses online for wedding couture from traditional jewels like banarasi silk, brocade fabric that are characteristic of Indian classic clothing. These are given a new polished look by mix and match with other fabrics in various works while sticking to the traditional essence of the woven silk. You can either obtain these styles from designers’ collections or simply take one silk saree form your personal collection and have it customized it into a lehenga.

Lehenga with Crop Top

This is a very modern look for those daring brides who want to try an unusual style for their pre wedding ceremonies. Standard cholis can be replaced for crop top style blouse that go extremely well with traditional fabrics such as silk (refer image above). You can also play with contrasting colors as you can never go too overboard with it! While crop top silhouette is a stylish fusion in itself, different colors create a colorful spectrum out of the attire. So if you want to try something quirky for your sangeet, this is definitely your look.
