Eat, Drink, and Be Merry: Intoxicating Indulgences

From melt-in-the-mouth chocolate truffles to sophisticated marzipans, the combination of quality confectionery and scrumptious spirits makes for some very grown-up treats. Everyone likes to indulge themselves occasionally, so check out my favourite boozy delights from our range.

A Corny Love Story!

For a modern take on alcohol-inspired snacks look no further than Joe and Seph’s. This relatively new family business, based in London, prides itself on using natural ingredients to create its gourmet popcorn. A personal favourite of mine is their finest air-popped gin and tonic popcorn, covered in a classic caramel topping with a twist. This distinctive version of their caramel is infused with 5% real gin and 5% real tonic. This irresistible light snack is perfect for cosy movie nights or a summer picnic - perhaps paired with the real deal!

Champagne O’Clock

One of the most iconic duos in the confectionery world has to be Marc de Champagne and chocolate truffles. Marc de Champagne is a brandy made from the seeds and skins of the grape – the by-products of Champagne production. Lessister’s have a fun take on the alcoholic chocolate truffle with their prosecco milk truffle topped with popping candy. An extra special treat is the Buck’s Fizz chocolate truffle – these delicious bites consist of a white shell draped around a silky white chocolate centre which is blended with champagne brandy and orange oil.

For boozy truffles whose presentation matches their quality, I would recommend Holdsworth’s Truly Scrumptious Marc de Champagne Truffles. This British family business offers beautifully presented, handmade chocolate truffles in sophisticated, pretty packaging. A smooth milk case with a just a suggestion of caramel gives way to a velvety ganache centre with a satisfying kick of champagne.

Five a Day?

Leaving bubbly and the British Isles behind, I recommend Anton Berg for chocolates with a bit more bite. Anton Berg is one of the oldest chocolatiers in Denmark; they’ve been creating magic since 1884 and supply confectionery to the Danish royal family. Though well-known for their branded liqueur chocolates, a particularly naughty confection this brand offers are their boozy marzipan discs.

The discs come in a range of flavours and spirit combinations: cherry and rum, strawberry and champagne, blueberry and vodka, and apricot in brandy. The fruit is soaked in the spirit before being combined in a delicious ‘marriage’ of marzipan, fruit, and liqueur. Each piece of marzipan is then individually enveloped in a case of rich dark chocolate. The alcohol soaked fruit and the bitterness of the smooth shell are a pleasant contrast to the sweetness of the marzipan.

These are just some of the innovative confections we come across at HQ using alcoholic spirits to produce exciting treats ideal for your adult customers.
