Are you thinking about installing a fence for the boundary of your house? Or maybe replacing the old one which has become all rusty and worn out or broken from the storm last night? Then, I would say that you should get an estimate for fence installation cost before actually starting the installation. It is obviously to get the estimation beforehand because you never know how they would be increasing your overall cost. So you can talk to the fence installer and make sure he is taking a reasonable amount of money for the process.

There are many issues which can increase your cost of fencing. Here I have listed some of them.

  • First of all, the site where the contractor has to supply all the materials is taken into consideration. It largely affects the cost because if you live in a place which is not accessible by the contractor then he will automatically increase the delivery cost to deliver you the materials.
  • The fence installation cost will increase with a number of alterations that the installer has to perform before putting up the fence. You cannot just take a fence and put it there. Some alterations have to be done to the surroundings or to the ground.
  • If the soil in which the fence is to be put is rocky or hard then it will be hard to dig in. The more effort the installer has to put the more he will charge you for it.
  • Even trees or an elevated ground provide an obstruction in the installation process of the fence. The more obstructions, the more the installation cost.

To complete your installation process within your budget you must keep in mind a few points and these are listed below.

Choose the type of fence that will be cheapest if you are on a tight budget. Chain link fences cost the least. Next on the ladder are the wooden fences, leading them are the vinyl fences and on top of all are the aluminum fences. So choose according to your budget.

Do not make your fence unnecessarily high. Make them only up to a height that is required for your safety. Unnecessary use of the material will automatically increase your fence installation cost.

Even if you ask for an estimate for your fence installation, there are chances of many hidden costs. Here is how you can be aware of them –

No one knows the soil of your lawn better than you. So if the professional installers or the company gives you an estimation cost always consider 10 per cent more than that if you know the soil of your lawn is rocky.

Another reason for which the actual cost of installation may increase than the given estimate is the elevation of your lawn. If your lawn does not have the same elevation all throughout then at some places the installers would have to dig more than the other places. For this, they will increase the cost up to a certain amount.

After going through the entire article you must have realized how important it is to get an estimate beforehand because if you get to know at the last moment that your cost of installation is much more than you had expected it wouldn’t be a good situation.
