Define IAS. Who Holds the IAS Examination?

IAS stands for Indian Administrative Service. IAS exam is the tough exam of civil service to qualify and it is the challenging phase for the students to crack inside of India. Either you qualify the IAS exam to will become the member of Indian Civil Service. There are many more service that you go through the IAS test such as IPS (Indian Public Service), IRTS, IRPS, IRS and many more.

As IAS (Indian Administrative Service) exam is conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission). IAS is a Civil Service Exam coaching organized every year. IAS exam is the all India Administrative Civil Service holds key and strategic positions in the Union Government, States Governments and Public sector undertaking.

How many level of IAS Examination?

IAS Written Exam contains three stages including:

  • Preliminary examination,
  • Mains examinations, and
  • Interview

As preliminary examination contain two exams- General Studies and General Aptitude. Candidates need to qualify Paper I than he is eligible for Mains Examination.

First step is Preliminary Examination which comprise to two question papers including Paper I- General Study of 200 marks and Paper II -Central Service Aptitude Test (CSAT) of 200 marks. Total marks will be 400 and duration of time is 4 hours. IAS prelims examination is essential phase to qualify and appeared in IAS Mains examination.

The second stage is the Mains Examination which is organizes to evaluate student's intellectual personnel. IAS Mains Examination contains nine papers such as English, Essay, Indian Language, General study and optional subject of total 2000 marks. Time duration for each question paper will be 3 hours. After qualifying the IAS mains written examination will be further called for the interview and personality by UPSC.

The next and last stage of IAS exam is Interview and personality analysis. IAS Interview is hold by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission). After qualify written exam students are called last stage of IAS exam. Here Students need to prove their mental excellence. Marks of the interview are added to the final score of the aspirants ranking. IPS Interview consists of 275 total marks.

What the Eligibility Criteria for IAS Written exam 2017?

Candidates must have bachelor degree and final year graduation in any stream from any recognized University and the minimum age required to IAS exam is Twenty one years to thirty two years. Number of at temptation and age relaxation is available for different categories. Simple graduates and PhD's students is applicable, no need of higher academic certificate.
