First birthday with a cake

My father is not a person who favours celebrating birthdays and all. I cut my first birthday cake on my 13th birthday, all thanks to my father. He would give me money or bring pastries for me to eat, but he didn’t really believe in organizing birthday parties as usually parents did. For him it was just a lame formality, I suppose. I and my brother have grown up now and have cut many cakes. But there is one person who has never cut a cake in his life. That is my father. And on his coming birthday, I decided to surprise him with a cake. And it being a Sunday helped me to plan a refreshing birthday party.The bakeries around our home were below average. So, I decided to buy a cake from an online cake shop. I checked out plenty of websites and a website called shopcrazzy.com caught my attention. It offered cakes midnight delivery online which was an awesome thing. However, I have to cancel the plan for midnight party as my father is a little old now and he sleeps by 10 pm. And he has told us many a times that if he wakes up in between, it takes him a long time to sleep again.Now, after a few minutes of confusion, I created a rough plan in my mind. Birthday was on Sunday. A few close relatives who lived nearby could easily come. I wanted this birthday to be a little different. All birthdays are celebrated mostly at night, so I decided to celebrate my father’s birthday in the morning. I called up my uncles and aunts; most of them lived nearby and agreed to come on the set time, which was 8:30 a.m.The breakfast menu was decided, chole bhature from the most famous shop near our house. Yea, party food is not supposed to be very healthy, but tasty no doubt. Moreover, there was a yummy sweet, which was loved by most people in our family, and home-cooked tea and pakoras to complete the lovely family breakfast.Now, birthday without a cake looks dull. So, mission cake began. I googled pineapple cakes online and strawberry cakes online, two flavours which were more likely to be liked by most people in our family. Again shopcrazzy.com was the website over which I wanted to place my bet because of a great range of cakes and other variety of things they offered. I ordered the pineapple cake.After placing the order, I called up their customer service to make sure that the cake is delivered fresh at the time that I wanted. I still remember that our relatives started to gather by 8 a.m. and the cake arrived home at 7:45 a.m. My father looked so happy to find so many people around him. Though he did said once, "What was the need of doing all this?"One of my uncles bought a handmade flower bouquet from flowers plucked from his plants and a park near his home. That was something which brightened the day for each one of us. The cake just confirmed why all of us have gathered there. Till afternoon, everything was finished by the hungry and happy family.
