Algebra is one of the major parts of mathematics in which the numbers and other symbols are used to make the expression. The symbols and the numbers are used in the algebraic equation to represent some quantities in equation or formula. In simple word, algebra is a branch of mathematics in which the Latin and Greek symbols or letters are used to represent some quantities. There is three important term you can experience in any general algebra equation are constant, coefficient and variables. Variables are basically represented by X and Y whose values varies according to the expression.

Most common algebraic equation form is a linear equation. The Linear equation includes single power on a variable. A Linear equation is used for various mathematical problems. Also, the algebra calculation is used for daily life for counting expenses and else. To understand more about linear equations, take an example-

A set of chair and table you can buy at 100$ and 2 chairs and 4 tables you can buy 300$. Now you have to calculate an individual price of chair and table. It is easy to calculate the individual price by making algebra equation. Consider chair as X and table as Y. Now you have two linear algebraic equations as-

2X + 4Y = 300

X + Y = 100

Now you can solve out the expression using a various algebraic method. One of the common methods to solve the linear equations is elimination method. In this method, one variable is eliminated which provide second variable’s value. But the elimination can be complete when you have similar coefficient with the same variable. Now applying the elimination method on the given expression, select the easiest term to make it similar. For above expression, it is right to multiply 2 in second equations. Now you will get,

2X + 4Y = 300

2X + 2Y = 200

Now you can eliminate the X term from the expression by subtracting,

Now you have single equation, and you can get the value of Y by solving it as

2Y = 100

Y = 50

Now put the value of Y on the above equation which can help to identify the value of X

2X + 2Y = 200

2X + 2(50) = 200

2X + 100 = 200

2X = 200 – 100

2X = 100

X = 100/2

X = 50

Now we have results for X and Y is 50 and 50 respectively. That means the price of single chair and table is 50$ and 50$. Now you can calculate how much chair and table you want. Just multiply the numbers of chairs and tables with 50 then calculate the simple numerical values. You will get the actual price or quantity.

Instead of linear equations, you can find the quadratic equation, exponential expressions and else. Also, these are necessary to know some mathematical quantities. To get instant help and find the variable values of any algebra problem you can use scientific calculators. Just put the coefficient values on the required field then you can instantly achieve the result. If you want to learn deeply about algebra some of the websites can help you.
