A partnership to provide ‘learning by doing’ to create impeccable value for the studfents and make them ‘future ready’.

Education is a natural process carried out by the student and is not acquired by listening to words but by experiences in the environment – Dr. Maria Montessori.

With this motto, Vishwakarma University has partnered with Tata Technologies to offer students a comprehensive program based on the pioneering concept of‘Industry on Campus’, Pune. The collaboration aims to create industry-ready engineering professionals to bridge the existing skillset gap and improve student employability.

Vishwakarma University, Tata Technologies Ltd. and IBM are jointly committed to bringing ‘company to campus’ whereby the value addition to students will be immense. With content refinement in the curriculum students will ‘learn by doing’ as opposed to ‘learning by rote’. With mock up centers that simulate work place/factory, students will be able to move to their work place seamlessly.

A well-defined, comprehensive plan will be followed to ensure that Tata Technologies provides end-to-end support to Vishwakarma University during the entire academic cycle. Apart from investing in industrial mock centers and infrastructure, the company will also be offering content support, with instructors being chosen from a pool of over 8500 engineers at Tata Technologies. The company is hopeful of creating future-ready engineers by offering them a chance to learn and work at the same time in factory-like simulation centers.

IBM is set to provide their expertise with collaborative work on curriculum design and courseware in the areas of Business Analytics and Cloud Computing for B. Tech Computer Science Engineering students of Vishwakarma University. This will result in students acquiring the much in-demand technical skills - helping them build a robust career in the industry.

Commenting on the partnership with Tata Technologies Mr. Bharat Agarwal, President of Vishwakarma University said, "Vishwakarma University is dedicated to the welfare of its students and this partnership is a step towards fulfilling the same. In a competitive job market, it is just not enough to have theoretical knowledge. We recognize the importance of imparting tactical skills to our students to make them employment-ready. With support from Tata Technologies, we hope to benefit our students and contribute to the pool of quality and productive engineers".

Commenting on the partnership with VishwakarmaUniversity, Mr.AnandBhade, President - Asia Pacific Sales & Global Head of Corporate Marketing, Tata Technologies, said, "Acquiring the right talent with the right skillset is critically important for achieving excellence. If we seek to bring about an upward shift in the quality of engineers, then we must relook at the fundamentals. Academia-industry engagement plays a pivotal role in bringing about enhancements in the productivity and employability of students. This partnership will allow students to be trained in state-of-the-art labs utilizing latest technologies which will equip them with the required tactical skills. This will aid in reducing the gestation periods in organizations, i.e., the time spent in training the new recruits to turn them into industry-ready professionals".
