MultiGP Utah Drone Racing Cup

MultiGP Drone Racing League and Worldtek Events are proud to present the Utah Drone Racing Cup at the Utah Drone Summit August 25–26, 2017 at the Calvin L. Rampton Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City, Utah!

The best pilots on the continent will descend into the City of Saints to wage battle for First-Person-View Multirotor Racing supremacy and their share of over $15,000 in Cash and Prizes awarded to the champions.

Hosted in conjunction with the Utah Drone Summit, spectators and attendees will have the opportunity to see the latest and greatest offerings from the UAV Market, learn from industry experts, witness several competitions and even partake in live demonstrations as part of the Ogden-Hinkley Airport Experience featuring aircraft from multiple UAV-related industry as well at the Ogden-Hinkley Airport.

The Utah Drone Racing Cup is sanctioned and produced MultiGP Drone Racing League and will be staged indoors inside the spacious Salt Palace Convention Center, and feature a course that enwraps the spectators for a truly immersive experience. Racing will feature a full day of practice and qualifying, leading into Championship Saturday featuring a last-chance qualifier and the entertaining and engaging double-elimination bracket. A truly 3-dimensional course will be constructed featuring LED-Lined Gates and a race line of twists, dives and turns and aeronautical maneuvers such as the "Split-S", "Yaw Turn", and "Power Loop".

Racing Requirements:

• 40 Channel VTX Capable of doing 25mW and 200mW (or power selectable)
• LHCP and RHCP Polarized Antennae (at least one of both)
• Ground Stations will be available, but their use is not required by pilots
• Pilots must have goggles or a monitor that can accept an external source input via 3.5mm video or Composite (RCA Yellow) if using ground stations

Race Specifications:

• Open Unlimited 3–6 inch 2–4 blade props/3–4s battery types/120–290mm frame sizes/4–6 rotor

• Friday, August 25th, 2017

  Registration: 8am-9am

  Assigned Practice Heats: 9am-1pm

  Qualifiers: 1pm-7pm

• Saturday, August 26th, 2017

  Qualifiers: 8am-1pm

  Championships: 1:30pm — 5:30pm

Event Format:

• Fastest-3 Consecutive Laps from Best Qualifying Round
• Practice and Qualifying Sessions 2 minutes in Duration
• Championships: 5-Lap Heads-up Racing, Double Elimination of top-32 Pilots
