You must have heard from people that China is considered as a paradise for shoppers. But you might not know that there are many essential things that you might not find in China and face difficulties immensely. Therefore it is recommended that you carry some supplies by yourself so that you do not get into a soup right after landing into a new foreign land. Having these supplies handy will save your time and efforts. Save the energy and spend it on sight-seeing and exploring the country in the best manner.

Reasons why should you carry the essentials on your China trip

Now that you have your San Francisco China visa stamp on your passport, you should start planning your packing for the travel. There are valid reasons as why you should carry all essentials for your Chinese trip. Firstly, there are many items which are quite limited in China. These items might not be available readily in all shops and stores. You might need to travel a long distance to some departmental store and get the item. In that case too, you might not get the perfect item and get a duplicate of the original.

Secondly, it might happen that you intend to travel on some off beaten tracks. Finding essential items on such tracks and routes would be a problem. Therefore it is always recommended to carry such stuffs so that there are no hassles in the journey whatsoever.

List of the essentials for China trip

Along with the passport with the Chinese visa SF stamp, mentioned below is the list of essentials that you would need for the China trip:

  • Shampoo and conditioner – Usually people like to follow particular brands and items for shampoos and conditioners. So, if you are choosy about the brand and item, you must carry your stuff. It is not that China does not have familiar brands, but there might be difference in the formulas of the same. And since it is written in Chinese, it will be difficult to decipher the same. In a foreign land, there might be change in the water and with that if the shampoo and conditioner also changes, you might face some problems like hair fall etc. So, it is best to stick to your known brand of shampoo and conditioner.
  • Deodorants with antiperspirants – This will be quite a difficult thing to find in China. You might be lucky in finding deodorants in a large supermarket or in a drug-store. But finding the combination of deodorants with antiperspirants is almost next to impossible in China. Therefore it is best if you carry your stock with you. You will need it in China for sure.
  • Sunscreen – Various kinds of sunscreen brands are now available in China. However, you might be unlucky as your brand might not be available. Basically the brands that are available mainly cater to the needs of the women in China and meet the requirements in the Chinese market. The SPF in the sunscreens is mainly above 50 and they have combination of sunscreen and whitener. If you are fussy about your sunscreen brand, carry it with yourself.
  • Medications – Do not think that the medications available in your country will be readily available in China as well. Keep your stock ready so that in case you need the medicine, you don’t have to look for a medicine store. Carry medications for nausea/diarrhoea, allergy, birth control, headache, fever etc with you. If you take vitamins and supplements, be ready to bring them along as well. Women should carry tampons as feminine hygiene products are only found in large supermarkets in the country.
  • Shoes – This is an important part of packing that you must do while visiting China. This is all the more important if your travel plan includes lots of walking. Pack shoes that are comfortable and light and fit well. They should also be easy on drying in case they tend to get wet.
Pack these items and you can be assured of having a hassle free travel time in China.
