It’s a general conception that public clouds are not secure. And the only way to meet security standards is the implementation of private clouds. Whatever the truth is, our concern is to know the common risks that may destroy your private clouds. Many enterprises opt for this cloud system as a solution to possible issues occurred in public clouds. Since private clouds use hardware, through VMware ESXi or keyboard, video, Virtual Infrastructure Management (VIM) and Management and Orchestration (MANO), etc. they can also be prone to risks.

1. Virtualized Compute DeficiencyYou are likely to destroy your virtual private clouds if you don’t have a dedicated virtualized, compute infrastructure. Also, if you get a higher degree of segregation than what is available in a multi-tenant cloud environment, you cannot get the best out of your cloud system. So, look for a dedicated and virtualized infrastructure.

2. Lack of Network and Security

Lack of a unique network topology and design is another area of concern. The deficiency of it can make you incapable of setting up single-tier, two-tier or multi-tier architecture and you may fail to add virtual machines (VMs) as required across the tiers. So, try to maintain a unique network topology and design.

3. No Flexible Consumption Model

If your service provider doesn’t have flexible consumption model with no lock-in, you can lead to spoiling your private cloud infrastructure. Get in contact with a reputed IT company that has a choice of two consumption models.

4. Lack of Full Control over Applications

Being inaccessible to applications or software means you are losing the best of out of your virtual private cloud. You should readily provision VMs and control over your application architecture. A good IT company can provide you with user-friendly dashboards with integrated analytic tools. It will allow you to generate real-time reports, watermark levels, and alerts. Thus, you will have real-time visibility and full control over your cloud environment.

5. Inefficient Flexibility

No doubt, customers own your computer node. Therefore, you need to have full flexibility to define your own VM density per host, which include hypervisor, OS, etc.

Coming to conclusion, private cloud implies the power of on-demand computing, allowing you to have flexibility for building technical solutions to suit your specific application needs. If you don’t integrate a trusted cloud service provider, you won’t be able to get the best out of your private clouds.
