Has it been days since you changed the floor of your bathroom? Has it been years probably more than 20 years since you changed your bathroom floors? Have you been lately seeing cracks, peels and rough edges? It is time to get new flooring done. Bathroom is a place we often forget to renovate. But it is as important as say kitchen flooring or basement flooring to say the least.

Bathrooms are the place we often go barefoot. If they are not properly made, they can be of hindrance to all. Floors are the most important of the surfaces since we are in constant contact with them. So floors should never be left unattended or left to rot for long. If your bathroom floors are old and breaking off, make sure you get a new one. It is the part of the house where the flooring decays the most. The bathroom is always damp and the flooring is more prone to germ growth. Thus it is very important to keep a watch over the flooring.

Comfortable to walk on

Since you would be walking bare feet the floor needs to be comfortable to walk on. Tiles may be a good choice but they are too cold. In that case, cork flooring is a great option. Cork floorings are very comfortable to walk on as they adjust themselves to the foot and would never make the feet feel cold. The pores in the cork floors act as insulators which trap in the heat and keep your bathroom relatively warm.

Make your bathroom look bigger

Most of our houses have small bathrooms which can be a bit unsettling. To make your bathroom look bigger and to make you feel less claustrophobic you are able to opt for lighter shades of flooring. Dark shades make the area look tinier while light shades make it look like a larger space. Cork floors have a lighter wooden shade which again makes it a good option!

Bathroom flooring needs to withstand the moisture and constant flow of water. Thus one needs to properly seal the surface so that water does not penetrate. If possible the surface can also be laminated so as to prevent extreme damage and peeling of floors. Cork floors are eco friendly and are a good choice for flooring the house and the bathrooms. They would not be of hindrance if properly maintained. Say goodbye to your old floors and get your flooring done with cork!
