There are many different reasons a buyer might be interested in purchasing customized athletic apparel. For example, many schools have customized gym uniforms and sports uniforms. These aren’t the only organizations looking for one of kind athletic apparel, however. Extracurricular groups are also often motivated to get custom uniforms or clothing for their teams. Little league teams, company softball leagues, and even bowling leagues find it preferable to have matching gear (and are in some cases required to, depending on the organizations they play with).

Of course, it doesn’t take an athletic group to be interested in getting matching sports gear, simply because sports apparel is such a popular choice for casual dressing, as well. For example, many organizations are interested in providing matching windbreakers, t-shirts, sweatshirts, or duffel bags, all of which fall under the sports clothing and accessories category.

And naturally, retailers are frequently also intrigued by the possibility of offering custom designed apparel to their customers. It’s a good choice for those who are looking to differentiate themselves from the competition with unique items. There are lots of different options available, too, from simply requesting custom designs on items, to choosing to have items "branded" with their own logo, to actually designing and ordering different cuts, fabrics, and so forth.

The key to being able to provide these customized apparel and accessory options is the ability to find them at affordable prices. There are many different factors which impact the price of any particular design or piece:

The more buyers are interested in ordering, the cheaper the price per piece will typically be. So, for those groups those have a lot of pieces to order, there are often more options available. For retailers who are interested in ordering custom pieces, they should do so when they are prepared to order in bulk.

  • Level of Customization

Cheaper options include just having a design printed on an item which the manufacturer already has in stock. More expensive include having multiple designs printed, more colors used, or custom labeling. Most expensive (especially when not ordering in considerable bulk) is having a company manufacture new items to the buyer’s specifications. Examples of this could include shorts of a particular length, t-shirts of an unusual cut, or clothing using different fabrics or colors than the manufacturer typically uses.

  • Shipping

Shipping may seem like a relatively innocuous charge, but since manufacturers for sports clothing exist the world over, and sell to customers internationally, it can often be an important factor to consider. A domestic company may have much higher per piece prices for the items they produce, but have relatively low or even free shipping. A company overseas might offer each piece at a surprisingly low price, but charge many times the amount of a domestic company when shipping. As a result, when the customer is pricing custom made athletic apparel from Sports Clothing Companie
