Most eye surgeons are pretty particular about those they will treat with Lasik to ensure the best possible outcomes. During this visit, be sure to ask any questions you have and be 100 percent honest with your answers to your doctor’s questions.
• Find out about a doctor’s experience level – Lasik is considered a "routine" eye surgery, but it’s going to be anything but routine to you. With that in mind, take the time to ask your doctor about his or her experience with Lasik and also inquire about success rates. Experience with this type of procedure is important.
• Ask about pricing options – Lasik surgery is generally relatively affordable. These days, most people can afford to fund the surgery without insurance. That said, the best doctors will offer financing or payment plans. If you’re unable to foot the cost, ask about financing choices during your consultation.
