Cu-Free Click Reagents – A Guide to a Few Important Azides and Alkynes

One of the leading characteristic of this reactor is that it is highly soluble in water miscible substances or solvents. It has to be noted that the azide and alkyne do not react with each other, though they can get conjugated to each other with high efficiency. The terminal alkyne group can react with the terminal azide group and then a stable tiazole has been formed. This reaction process is a matter of biocompatibility and selectivity. This reagent has power to form covalent bonds in living organisms.

3. Cy5 – Azide

This is another popular reactor or reagent that can be found in the modern chemistry or biochemistry laboratories in these days. For detection of alkyne tagged molecules and for chemoselective labeling, this azide activated florescent dye has been widely used. This reactor has been recognized by its supreme character of getting dissolved water miscible substances. The azide group of this reactor can react with terminal alkynes and as the result of the reaction stable triazole has been produced.
