When planning a wedding, all the energy goes toward planning that fabulous wedding day. Couples too often neglect the events leading up to the wedding. The bridal shower for instance, is a milestone; it is not just another party. It is a celebration to stand alone and should be treated as such. The wedding ceremony is a symbol and celebration of the commitment and the reception is a big party to celebrate the marriage, whole the bridal shower is a celebration of the end of a chapter in your life. Bridal showers may involve fewer people, but they concentrate a lot of fun into one event, build bonds, memories and create anticipation for the wedding.

The much anticipated fun wedding shower is usually planned and hosted by the maid of honor, although you may want to step in to co-pilot the affair if you know your maid of honor’s planning skills are not her best. Here’s how to get started in planning a memorable Bridal shower together.

STEP 1: SELECT A FUN THEME

OK ladies, the theme does not have to be super elaborate, reserve that for the wedding. Think instead fun and interactive. Decorations, gifts and more will go better when there is an integrating theme. Some ideas might be a rodeo ride adventure, how about including a mechanical bull ride? For a simpler theme, try something like lover’s paradise and hire someone to showcase relationship enhancement potions, lotions and toys.

Decorations need not be very extensive for a fun bridal shower, but it is a party and a good host will want to give the location a festive air. Note however to keep the space minimal with decorations as a Bridal party should always include room for games and fun with Wedding Budget Breakdown.

STEP 2: NO ROOM FOR BOREDOM

Treat the event like it’s a wedding day, and create a schedule of events minute by minute. Do not leave room for people to get bored; instead prepare an activity every 30 minutes so people are engaged. Not everyone has to participate, spectators are welcomed, but do not allow room for boredom. Sitting around staring at one another can lead to a very embarrassing situation. No need to rigidly control events moment by moment, but having an outline of how the event is supposed to go can up the odds of a successful party.

STEP 4: KNOW YOUR AUDIENCE

Don't plan classical music for guests who only listen to heavy metal and vice versa. Since everyone has different tastes, even among the best of friends, some compromise is inevitable. In any case don't overpower them with the music. It should be just enough volume to fill the background. The prospective bride should be in the foreground.

STEP 5: GAMES ARE A MUST

It is better not to force everyone (or anyone) to play a game they find stupid, boring or offensive. It's a party, give people room to enjoy themselves. To avoid that possibility, be creative. One popular game in your fun bridal showercan easily get everyone involved and makes the prospective bride the center of the party as she should be:

Do you know your groom? Arrange beforehand to find out Free Wedding Planner about the groom, what he likes, his funny habits, even where he grew up or early childhood events. Get at least two questions per guest (for a party of about 10-20). Make up some flash cards with the questions and answers and grill the bride. Her answers, right or wrong, can produce a lot of laughter when the game is carried out in the spirit of good fun.

STEP 6: HAVE FUN!

After all the planning is completed, now it’s time to really have fun. Remember this is a celebration of a milestone for you, so bring on the great music, take great photos and have a ball. That should be number one on your list.
