Gurgaon is one of the most developed cities in India. Sharing its borders with nation's capital the city is easily accessible from Delhi. The city is today is a hub of commerce, education, and healthcare. It is also a leading centre of real estate. Meanwhile, the city also makes a good destination for holidaying. Gurgoan, a significant city in the National Capital Region, popularly known as NCR, is an upcoming city. It is home to numerous companies that includes both national to international companies and firms. Apparently, this is also the attribute for which the city is most known. There are companies starting from the small organizations/start-up businesses to the largest firms in the country. To name some of the most recognized, prestigious firms/companies settled at Gurgoan include: Hero Honda, Atlas Cycles, Maruti, Ranbaxy Laboratories, American Express, HCL, Indiabulls, Indigo Airlines, Airtel, and many more.

Gurgaon is also a growing hub of education. Apart from the large companies and industries, the city is patched by numerous educational institutions with world repute. Meanwhile, the outlook of the city wasn't always the same that we see today. In fact, even several decades after the independence of the country, the city was still a sleepy city with minimal influences of modernization. The climate of Gurgaon is not something that everyone will like. Like the rest of the central India, Gurgaon is known for receiving extremities of weather. Summer stays for most of the months in a year, and keep in mind that during peak summer time it get from hot to hotter. The same goes for peak winter time; it is frigid cold in the city. Post monsoon season and mid-January to mid-March are the most advised time for the Gurgaon tour.

Gurgaon derives its name on reference to a religious belief. The city has been mentioned in the Hindu epic, Mahabharata, where the city has been described as the place where lived Guru Dronacharya, the teacher of Pandavas and Kauravas. It is believed that it here where the Pandavas and the Kauravas learned everything they knew about battle and spiritualism from Dronacharya. Before finally settling at Gurgaon, the city was called Guru Gram or Guru Goan, after the guru.

As the city is growing, there are significant rise in the real estate market of the city. Over the past few decades, the city has received huge growth with new residential and commercial properties being developed in Gurgaon. The city features, everything that relate to modernization. There are multiple entertainment options at the numerous shopping malls, entertainment centres. Plus, there exist large number of hotels in Gurgaon that makes finding desired accommodation an easy task.

A couple of most popular places to visit in Gurgaon include: Kingdom of Dreams (an amusement park), Leisure valley, Fun 'n' Food Village, iSKATE, Pataudi Palace, Farrukh Nagar Fort, Urusvati Museum of Folklore, Qutub Khan's Tomb, Sohna, Suktanpur Lake Bird Sanctuary, and Aliwardi Masjid. The good thing is that all the prime tourist attractions in the city are easily accessible as they share excellent road connectivity. There are taxis, auto-rickshaws, buses, and metro connecting all parts of the city. Plus, there are certain cheap hotels in Gurgaon that are in vicinity to prime tourist attractions.
