Spending spring break in a mountain city! How does it feel? I'm sure you literally want to run away from home and seek refuge in mountains and spend some leisurely moments away from bustling city life. You want to just unwind, relax and spend time with your loved, doing practically nothing and thinking nothing about your work commitments.

Springs brings with it warmth and beauty, and longing to spend fun and light moments. If you're already planning a getaway, I wish you great times. However, if you're still wondering where to go in a summer break, I may suggest you a destination. If mountains are where you belong, Walhalla may be the right choice this season. Located in South Carolina in the Appalachian Mountain, it's a perfect place to escape from hustle and bustle of a crowded city. Not very thickly populated, it will certainly live up to your expectations.

What about hotels though? You need not worry because it's big enough to offer you excellent accommodation when you're away from home. Cheap motel in Walhalla is easily available. But as official tourist season starts, I recommend you to make an advance booking to get rid of the hassles of making last-moment arrangements. You can find good accommodations customized to your needs. If you're traveling with the entire family, a double room with two double beds will be an apt choice. However, if you're only two, then a king room is more than sufficient.

Motel accommodation in Walhalla is clean, safe and 100% smoke-free. They are equipped well with all basic amenities, such as air conditioning, heating, alarm clock, TV, telephone, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, study desk, wi-fi, seating area and free toiletries. You can be sure of a comfortable stay in a home-like environment.

Walhalla is a beautiful city. Though it's a main tourist place, it has maintained its old world charm. Its rich history attracts travelers to spend some time exploring the museum and interacting with locals. Actually, it began as a settlement of German immigrants who left Hamburg and Bavaria. It is also home to English, Scots and Irish who traveled in the same ship with Germans.

The city is home to several attractions registered on the National Register of Historic Places. Drive to the Keil Farm located near South Carolina Highway 11 in the vicinity of Walhalla. It's considered an important symbol of the role German immigrant families played in the development of the area.

The Oconee County Cage is another attraction registered on National Register of Historic Places. It's a jail on wheels located at Browns Square Drive outside of the Oconee Heritage Center in Walhalla. It is preserved to show people how harsh conditions the convicts in early Twentieth century faced. There are numerous other attractions, including the Ellicott Rock, Oconee Station and Richards House, St. John's Lutheran Church, Stumphouse Tunnel Complex and Walhalla Graded School.
