Hosting a new fashion week with illustrious weather, Men’s fashion designers gathered from all over the United States to exhibit their designs and prove New York is worthy of being on the universal men’s fashion schedule.

From conglomerate corporations, to 40 labels and new startups showed their spring 2016 collections in performances, or presentations during the opening Men’s New York Fashion Week – which started on a Monday and was wrapped up Thursday.

Majority of the showings and exhibitions took place in Skylight Clarkson Sq, a downtown event where people could conveniently trek from one event to the next. The crowds didn’t gravitate to the show which big affairs in the fashion world are typically associated with; and was largely un-frenzied by spectators, or photographers and media who would have otherwise made a display.

Though, New York has the essential underpinning for a successful menswear week – buyers with cash and a visual sound persona that we can correlate the city with.

Observers paid respect to the many different trends that were shown in the runways the past couple days. From practical work wear; a navy jumpsuit with rolled sleeves and cuffs; to dark colors a skintight striped top—the wardrobe apparel was on magnificent display. New York designers shared a few different trends as well that appeared during the recent men’s shows in Europe, for instance: looser silhouettes; epicene wear; especially navy; for spring; and diaphanous fabrics. A higher emphasis was targeted on sports, and street wear looks, plus more upfront assembles that the industry coins commercial – as in they require high volume sales in retail.

"Based solely on American menswear history, I would say it's defined by a mix of modernity and functionality. And, of course, business savvy," says Anders Christian Madsen, fashion features director at iconic style rag i-D Magazine.

Designer Thom Browne, visited an event at Bergdorf Goodman commending his outcome from Tuesday night. "It was special to prove to today, to actually support American men’s fashion," he said. Mr. Browne relocated his venue runway exhibitions to Paris several years, but decided to hold another presentation in New York this time.

Victor Cruz of the New York Giants, NBA legend Dwyane Wade and his wife Gabrielle Union, Joe Jonas and Darren Criss of the hit-music comedy "Glee", all paid tribute to the events and posed for photos.
