The average life expectancy for a person in today's modern age is 78.7 years. The skin around our eyes is very thin and the suns UV rays can do a number on that area. Wearing glasses with that protect from uv rays will keep your skin protected and your eyes bright.

If you want to keep looking young, laugh! And do it often! Watch funny TV shows, read jokes on the internet, or go see a comedian. Make sure you include daily doses of laughter. Laughing will keep you looking young, and can also extend your life.

You can use anti aging facial cream to get your skin good looking. You should be getting around seven to nine hours of sleep each night. This will leave you feeling rested and give your body a chance to recuperate from the previous day.

Everyone says it is good to remain active in your old age. This is true. It is also true that this is the right time to step back and contemplate life. What was truly valuable? What was a waste of time? What would you advise your grandchildren to do?

Our hectic times tend to push us into pointless, repetitive activity. Resist this. Take control of this precious time given you in old age. Read a deeply meaningful book. Reach out to someone in need, someone you wouldn't have met during your working life, and give each other the gift of appreciation and understanding.

As you start getting older, your metabolism slows down. So if you aren't at a weight you are comfortable with now, it will be even harder to keep your weight under control as you age. Take up exercise and get moving regularly, preferably 3 to 4 days a week.

Enjoy the time you have left! Now is the time in your life where you have freedom to do as you choose with the power and ability to make it happen. Look at every day as if it was your last.

As our body ages and we don't always feel well, small adjustments in our daily life can make a big difference. Are you stiff and sore in the morning? Perhaps it is time to get a memory foam topper for the mattress. Such changes can help extend the time of feeling well and capable.

Pay special attention to your diet. As you get older, you need to pay attention to what you are eating much more carefully. A balanced diet is essential to keep as healthy and energized as possible. Try to eat 5 servings of fruits and vegetables, and 3 servings of whole grains per day. Limit your fat intake to no more than 30 percent of your diet. Focus on complex carbohydrates, such as wild rice, whole wheat bread and oatmeal. Last but not least, drink plenty of water.

The skin naturally looses its elasticity as people age. Sometimes getting older people notice baggy knees as a part of this process. Baggy knees can be combated with simple shallow squats to help strengthen the quadriceps. Do not overdo it and begin slowly with two sets. As you become more skilled, add another set. Do the squats daily.

Most people lose some degree of their hearing as they grow older. This may not present a problem for you yet. However, it is important to know how sharp your hearing is because it greatly affects your quality of life. If you find yourself missing what others say, asking them to repeat themselves, or turning up the radio or TV, you may be at risk for hearing loss and should have it checked immediately.

It might not be a picnic to grow old, but living a long life certainly beats any alternative you could throw out there.
