Restoring a Piece of History

every day

I live only a few blocks from my job so to save money I walk to work every day. I love to look at the old brick buildings and the architecture in my London neighbourhood that is so beautiful. There are a few buildings on my street that I noticed needed some repairs but still, I appreciate the old-world character. One day I was walking home from work and I noticed that a safety fence was put up surrounding one of those old buildings that needed repairs. I was hoping that they weren’t getting ready to tear it down. I would miss seeing the charm every day on my leisurely walk. I much prefer restoration to destruction when it comes to historical property.

Over the course of several days and then weeks, I watched while construction began on that old building. To my delight, it was being restored and cleaned. I love to see brick restoration and cleaning in London because the results are always amazing. Old buildings look almost new again. It’s refreshing and beautiful to see and I appreciate the preservation of history. It takes you back in time when life was not so fast paced. What I witness over time is nothing short of a miracle.

The brick restoration and cleaning company went to work on that old historic building and what I saw was amazing. Plenty of workers were on the job site every day. They removed several layers of paint from the brick and the windows. The brick was then cleaned and repaired.

The window trim was stripped and repainted a clean shade of white. Some broken windows were also replaced. The yard was cleaned up, trimmed, and bushes and flowers replanted. Even the sidewalk in front of the building was cleaned and repaired. The signs on the building were replaced with clean, new, and era appropriate signage. Every day, while I walked to and from work, I witnessed a magnificent transformation.

By the time the restoration and cleaning company was finished with that London building I could hardly tell that it was the same structure. It looked almost new, like it has just been built. Only it was better because restoring a piece of history makes for an amazing story. I could tell that the building had a lot to say about the people who entered and left throughout the generations. From the clean and repaired bricks to the freshly painted window frames, that building was a remarkable sight to see. It took weeks before the work was finally completed and the mess cleaned up. However, when it was all finished, that building became the nicest one on the block. I can only hope that other property owners will follow and hire a company that specializes in brick restoration and cleaning in London.
