Corporate exposures have become an integral part of the MBA curriculum as it gives students exposure to real-time work environment by allowing them to work on live projects. Corporate interactions ensure that students and faculty have a clear understanding of the business environment. The interaction between the college and the industry is where issues like strategy, roles, and responsibilities, conflicts resolution, talent management are addressed. There is a long list of MBA colleges in Kerala but the teaching-learning process at Saintgits is supplemented with various quality improvement programs like corporate visits, seminars, group discussions, specialized coaching, etc which make it stand out.

Saintgits Institute of Management, one of the best Management Colleges in Kerala - closely works in this area. Saintgits organizes Corporate Interactions periodically to ensure that students regularly interact with industry experts to gain knowledge through guest lectures, industrial visits and live projects which help them to develop into successful management professionals. The objective of such corporate programs is to assist MBA graduates to enhance their overall skills set to improve their employability level to match industry expectations. Faculty members attend national and international conferences and FDPs, to ensure that students and faculty have a clear understanding of the business environment. Right from the first semester, Saintgits students are exposed to industrial visits and live projects as a part of the college curriculum.

Saintgits ensure that the students are exposed to the corporate at five different levels:

  1. Induction visits to several large manufacturing industries in and around Kerala, from different domains. Objectives of the industrial visit are to provide students an insight regarding the internal working of companies. Theoretical knowledge is not enough for making a good professional career in MBA, as one needs to go beyond academics to provide students a practical perspective.
  2. Captains’ talks by company managers are held on a regular basis, which could mean 1-2 corporate talk per month. These corporate talks form a part of the MBA course study. Corporate talks and workshops are an easy way to promote learning and interaction between participants. Light, entertaining and useful – corporate talks are short, informative sessions where students get a chance to learn something new.
  3. Management association membership is given to all students, allowing them to attend monthly meetings and interact with practising managers. Joining, management associations is an important way of furthering one’s career. There are associations for nearly every profession or area of interest, and many have national and state chapters available to join. These associations help to enhance one’s network - for MBA students, creating professional relationships is important, and joining a group allows one to have a sense of security and trust. Broaden one’s knowledge - most associations provide an enormous amount of access to resource information such as case studies and white papers written by experts in similar fields or area of interest. In addition, major journal, magazine and newsletter access is provided as a part of membership privileges.
  4. Corporate projects for students are compulsory. There are three projects to be completed for the trimester. These corporate projects give the students an exposure to real time work environment by letting them work on an organisational study project, a marketing project and a project based on the student’s area of specialisation.
  5. Corporate seminars are essential as students learn from actual industry professionals and their actual business situations. These seminars are outside the Institute and are a must for all Saintgits students – one every trimester. Industry realities are opened to the students through these seminars and industrial visits.
