Know the breast implant facts

Breast implants will eventually break, but now also don't know how many years of breast implants on the market use the silicone breast implants.Research shows that most of the implanted last 7 to 12 years, but some break for few months or years, and the others persists for more than 15 years.

A case report published in the Journal of the Royal Society of Medicine in Scotland found that a woman with a broken silicone gel implant in her calf was coughing up silicone identical to the kind of her implant. This has potentially serious implications for women with breast implants, since silicone gel breast implants are considerably larger and closer to the lungs than calf implants.

A more controversial question is of whether breast implant can cause disease or illness, not just the problem area of the breast.

Autoimmune diseases
