The tall boy design

Wagon R is instantly noticeable on roads due to its tall profile. Under this design, the car is unusually taller with a short bonnet giving an overall boxy look. The several face-lifted models have also strictly kept up this design. While some car lovers criticize the boxy design, this arrangement definitely makes the car more spacious and comfortable from inside. The latest model measures around 3595 mm in length, 1495 mm in width and 1700 mm in height.

Spacious cabin

Wagon R can easily accommodate four passengers with ample legroom and headroom. Although the boot space is confined to 180 litres, there are some additional small storage spaces inside the cabin. The seats are ergonomically designed. The quality fittings and other equipment really ensure a comfortable ride.

Safety and comfort features

Wagon R is an absolutely safe car with features like Anti-Lock braking system, airbags, front and rear ELR seat belts, child proof door locks, high mounted stop lamp and the Intelligent Computerized Anti-Theft System among others. The top-of-the line variant offers an audio system with integrated AUX-in and USB ports, electric ORVMs, tilt adjustable electronic power steering, climate control unit and 60:40 spilt rear folding seats.

Performance and fuel efficiency

Wagon R is currently available in petrol, LPG and CNG engines. A diesel and AMT version of the car is long anticipated and they might be launched by the end of this year. The petrol models develop a top power of 67.1 bhp while the CNG unit develops 58.2 bhp of power. Fuel economy is marked at 15 kmpl approximately and the top speed is 150 kmph, beyond which the car is slightly vulnerable. The upcoming diesel Wagon R might just hit the 27-28 kmpl mark in ARAI testing.

Pricing

Wagon R comes with a price tag of Rs 3.64 to 4.53 lakhs and it is a total value for money offer at this price.
