Migraine headache symptoms: a quick fact on how to sort it out!

Author: Spence Rriffm

Having a general headache is quite a regular affair. However, migraine is one special type of headache that causes excruciating pain and is way more complicated than mere headache. But, what is most important is compared to general headaches, these migraine pain are pulsating headaches which occur on one side of one's head.

Also, in case of this, certain migraine headache symptoms can be very well be felt certain days before actual pain is to occur. This does not happen in case of general headaches which can normally be termed as tension headaches.

Whereas, general headaches do cause great pain, but in case of migraine headaches, this pain is prolonged, occurring on only one side of one's head and can be so terrible that one may land up at hospital bed!

Symptoms prior to actual pain:

Certain migraine headache symptoms can be felt prior to the actual day this pain is supposed to occur. This is a very important differentiating factor regarding general headaches with migraines, and hence needs to be taken special care of.

  • Being depressed or being less mentally alert.
  • Feeling over energetic, more enthusiastic and less sleepy.
  • Suddenly one sees flashlights before him/her and also seeing unusual lines before one's eyes.
  • Being constantly nervous or being unusually restless.
  • A sense of constant irritability or crankiness.
  • A tendency of chronic fatigue felt constantly for the last couple of days.
  • A general aching of muscles over quite a time period.
  • At times craving for certain specific food increases uncontrollably.
  • Even after more or less proper sleep, one has this constant tendency to yawn constantly throughout the day.
  • A sense of numbness felt throughout one's body, which might just start from one part of one's body and continue throughout body.
  • There arises a difficulty in speaking properly, a sense of incoherent speech.
  • There also arises an overall restless behaviour in one.

Thus, one can very well see that migraine headache symptoms, are something that almost starts way before actual pain starts.

Certain tendencies can be seen post headache also. These include:

  • A sudden headache starts, with normally pulsating tendencies, especially on one side of one's head. Contrary to general headaches, this can clearly be differentiated by its manner of headache.
  • A sudden extra sensitivity develops in terms of smells, light or any other type of sense organ.
  • A nauseous feeling and also constant vomiting. This generally is specific to migraine headache symptoms, since general headaches do not generally bring vomiting tendencies with it.
  • In case of 'aura' type, at times one may faint if exertion is beyond normal level.
  • At times one's vision gets blurred. Having a blackout in these cases is quite a regular affair.
  • Certain other disruptive features in one's body.

Conclusion:

Thus, it is quite difficult to actually avert these kind of headaches So it is very essential one be very careful regarding migraine headache symptoms and take proper care prior to actual attack. The best is to visit a Doctor who will advise correct treatment.
