This 40-day long event covers parades, music, festivals, dancing and various spectacular activities that can stun you. The origin of Brazil Carnival came from Christianity. Carnival marks the end of the time period and celebration which took part. In Christianity, people enjoy food and participate in special celebrations during this time before giving up these events and foods when Lent starts. In Lent period, Christians don’t eat specific food because they paid homage for 40 days spent by Jesus in the wilderness. This time reflects the journey of Jesus as Disciples in Christianity. Carnival is the event which was brought and transported to Brazil from Portugal. The Portuguese organize masquerades and elaborate balls and hold several special events on the streets. The dancing on the streets was evolved and it is known as Samba Parade.

The event is no longer based on any specific religion. But it has been transformed into a cultural experience over the years with dancing, fine foods, parties and various events. It has become the most sought-after and popular events in Brazil. When carnival is celebrated in all parts of the world, but the pre-Lent carnival takes place only in Rio de Janeiro of Brazil which captivates the people across the world. Rio is famous for its exotic beaches, historical monuments, cosmopolitan culture, world-class dining options, museums and amazing nightlife. Hence, the Samba Parade is the major highlight of Rio Carnival. Around 30000 people participate in this carnival and over 90000 spectators join the parade. Samba Parade is spectacular and vivid and captivates all the visitors. Samba schools are opened by several organizations through Rio de Janeiro. There are around hundreds of organizations organized Samba Schools to prepare the candidates for the Sambadrome Parade. The Samba schools are ranked and placed in several leagues and the "Special Group" and "Access Group" are the two main leagues. From each group, the winner school is promoted and joins more prestigious dance group. Similarly, the group which loses is demoted and referred to the group with lower rank. The Samba Parades start from 9 pm onwards. Most people leave early and arrive late. But the parade has several attractions that will keep you engaged throughout the show.
