Healthy Recipe Tips For Indian Families
When it comes to healthy recipes and healthy snacks, you should definitely endeavor to give them a try at home. Many a time, we end up playing havoc with our health owing to ignorance regarding the dangers of diets high in fat and bad cholesterol. These diets can lead to potential heart disease, cardiovascular ailments and what not! It is better to concentrate on preparing healthy recipes at home for you and your family members. Contrary to perception, Indian food can be healthy if made in the right manner. You have to focus on getting the ingredients right and half the battle is won there itself! A very simple alternative to fatty meals and a good detox option simultaneously is cabbage salad. The ingredients include sliced cabbage, carrots, sprouts, green bell peppers, Jicama, almonds and Cilantro. You can use limited amounts of black pepper powder, ginger or orange juice and salt for dressing along with honey or sugar.
This healthy food fix requires you to mix all the vegetables and chop the same uniformly. Thereafter, you can simply put them together for dressing. Once the dressing is mixed and the seasoning adjusted, you can simply chill it and serve it at your convenience. This takes a few minutes and can be a perfect snacking option. You can also add red radishes, cabbage, beetroot and cauliflowers to the salad for added gastronomic indulgence. Broccoli Paratha is another good option which requires whole wheat flour, broccoli, green chilies, turmeric powder, garlic, onions, Bishop’s weed and limited portions of oil. The broccoli has to be cut into florets while you boil water and add the same to it with salt. Remove and grind florets into a paste with turmeric powder, garam masala, garlic and green chilies. Add carom seeds, minced onions, wheat flour and salt into the mixing bowl. Knead the mixture like a paratha and make balls of the paratha to be cooked in oil till both sides are brown.
These healthy meals are good options for those looking to lower fat and cholesterol intake without compromising on taste. Always remember to use healthy table margarine like Nutralite while cooking or even for daily consumption. Nutralite contains cholesterol combating PUFA and MUFA and is completely free from hydrogenated fats. Nutralite is also supremely low in cholesterol and is a healthy table margarine that can be used for better health.
