4 Ways to Design Effective Workspace

Normally employees are in offices for more than 8 hours so employers or business owners need to make sure that they create effective work environment for their employees. Having a nice workplace to work in would boost employee’s morale, productivity and concentration. These things are to be considered right when the office is being designed after all, it makes no sense to demolish the entire office and make a new one right? Having an up to date office creates an impression on your employees as well as your clients if they ever plan to come down to your office. Many employees face a lot of problems at their workplaces, it could be related to hygiene, space, lighting, etc. The following pointers would help you to overcome this problem:

1. Akustik: One of the major problems faced by many organizations, although most of the interior designers claim that they have covered that problem, this is sometimes far from the truth. Employees cannot work in a place where there is lot of distraction like people talking in the background, keyboards typing, repair work going on. This simply creates chaos and employees fail to concentrate on their work. Installing various akustik products would help to solve this problem. Installing suspended ceilings would help to block distracting noises coming from above the ceiling. Sound absorbing foams can be used to cover small spaces in cubicles or in conference rooms.

  1. Ample Space: Secondly, space is again another issue. One simply cannot work in an environment where there is less space to move around. Less space to walk, less desk space to place their bags, laptops, etc. Having personal space is also important because you cannot work in a cluttered area. This decreases concentration and productivity of employees.
  2. Lighting: Some companies also fail to provide proper lighting in offices. Since most of the work is done on computer so having the provision of proper lighting right above your desk is good. Working in dim lights is not good for your eyes and hence a gloomy atmosphere won’t do well in your company.
  3. Rest Lounge: Since many of the employees carry their own laptops and prefer working on their laptops. This has two benefits, one being that they can work anywhere they want in the office, so they are not just restricted to sit in one place. Secondly, in case of important meetings, they can carry it in conference rooms. Having a rest lounge in office will ensure that employees will have a space to go to in case they are tired and wish to rest for a while. Or employees can go work there in case they need some alone time to think.

After considering the aforementioned pointers, organizations would be able to design an effective yet comfortable workplace for their employees. There are many companies available in the market who specialize in each of the above sector mentioned. One such company is Kamak who provides various sound absorbing products like suspended ceilings, Absorbenter, etc.
