History of Web Development
Web or website development is a blanket term that can be used to cover all the people who can be used to cover all the people who plan, build, and manage a given website for the internet (World Wide Web) or an intranet (a private network) which includes web designers, web publishers, information architects, product and project managers, programmers and database administrators. Website examples: Pinterest, Dropbox, Tumblr, Twttr, YouTube, etc.
The World Wide Web was invented by English scientist Tim Berners-Lee in March 1989. He wrote the first web browser in1990 (Switzerland). He made a proposal for an information management system in 1989 and he implemented the first successful communication between an HTTP client and server via the internet sometime around mid-November of the same year.
Early Websites were written by individuals & text only for affairs, but now a days’ sites are made by professional web designer teams of developers as-well-as graphic designers/artists,search engine & database specialists to produce and maintain websites responsible for millions of dollars of revenue for the owners. There are huge no. of websites, authored by individuals either for small business or increasingly as weblogs promoting authors’ lifestyles and perspectives on life, politics and news.
Web development can range from developing the simple static single page of simple and plain text to the most complex web based applications and social networking services. A list of tasks to which web development generally refers might include web design, web content development, client-side or server-side scripting, web server and network security confirmation and e-commerce development. Among "web development" usually refers to the main non-design aspects of building website, writing, mark up & coding. While discussing about web development two terms "web developer" & "web designer" are often used simultaneously both the terms mean different. The web designer only designs, website interfaces through HTML and CSS (Cascading Style Sheets). Basically the web developer may be involved in website designing but they may also write web scripts in languages like PHP (Purpose Programming Language) and ASP (Active Server Pages). Additionally, a web developer may maintain and update a database used by a dynamic website. Web development has been a growing industry since the commercialization of the web. One of the main reasons in the growth of this industry is online businesses for products and services.
The Internet has become the new way to generate new leads and business opportunities which is very essential in this competitive market.
