Harshavardhan Reddy and Asharaje Gaekwad hosts the Polo tournament, HVR Baroda Cup 2015, at Jaipur

The HVR Baroda Cup Polo Tournament has created a great buzz in the entire India since the main host has been none other than Harshavardhan Reddy and Princess Asharaje Gaekwad.

The finals of the Polo cup held on 7th of November 2015 had been extremely royal, elegant with Jindal Panthers winning at the end. The tournament was a sort of annual event which was hosted by the Princess of the Royal Family of Baroda. It was Reddy who had the chance to witness some of the members of the city’s political circle like the Duchess of York and Sarah Ferguson. These two personalities added to the immense charm and glamour of the game.

The annual event and the memorable Polo tournament at the Polo Tournament Grounds saw personalities like Jyotiraditya Madhavrao Scindia, the Duchess of York, Gautam Bhimani, the Cricket commentator, the great designer Reynu Taandon and it was the commentator who was making the event more special by referring to the presence of Duchess of York. The commentator had the chance to speak about her special connection to the game of Polo. The event witnessed a royal buggy ride by the Duchess and the Princess for the Prize Distribution Ceremony. Sarah Ferguson has remarked very clearly in the previous occasions that ‘My dad was a Polo player and even though I did not play the game myself, I love watching it’.

The special day in the life of Polo game was really a charming outdoor display of royalty, glamour and chivalry. Neelam Pratap Rudy, in particular, was seen during the Harshavardhan hvr cup wearing the ‘teeka’. On being asked how he felt about the Polo game, he remarked clearly that it was a house warming party at his home and so he came just from the celebrations. His daughter Avshreya is an avid fan of Polo who tries her skills at the game. The younger daughter of Neelam Pratap Reddy is also actively involved in the game.
