Samsung launches Galaxy Note 5 Winter Edition with 128 GB of storage space
Fans of the Galaxy Note series are in luck as Samsung just released the Note 5 Special Winter Edition with a larger storage space. When the Galaxy Note 5 was released earlier this year, many fans were captivated by the features despite the phone only coming with 32 GB and 64 GB of storage.
Earlier this year, the Galaxy S6 also launched providing customers with the option to choose from 32 GB, 64 GB, or 128 GB of storage. In regards to the Note 5, when it was originally released, Samsung told the press that they were evaluating the market to see if a 128 GB model would be something of interest. A few months later, the 128 GB Galaxy Note 5 hit the market on December 18th although with extremely limited availability.
The Winter Special Edition of the Note 5 is currently only offered in Gold Platinum and Silver Titanium. The device is only available in Korea through the carriers SKT and KT for 999,900 KRW, which is equivalent to about $846. The 64 GB edition costs approximately $818 in South Korea while the 128 GB version costs roughly $846 – barely $30 more! Interested individuals who purchase the Galaxy Note 5 in Korea will also get a free fast wireless charger.
Although the special 128 GB edition debuted in Korea, there is a small possibility that Samsung might bring this model to the United States if they see enough interest for it. It is also possible that if Samsung does not see the desire for the increased storage space, they may also skip the microSD card slot in the Galaxy Note 6, leaving users with just 64 GB of storage instead of the opportunity to add more. However, if you are okay with the 32 GB or 64 GB model and are just interested in the color option, most United States carriers such as Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, and Sprint do offer the Gold Platinum model with the lower storage amount. If you or someone you know would be interested in the increased space, make the interest known so Samsung knows that there is a market of interested consumers and perhaps keep your eyes on online stores such as Amazon and Cheap Phones as the phone may make its way on there.
