How Do You Find the Right Sheepskin Gilet for a Lady’s Wardrobe?

Author: B. Townsend

A Gilet is a sleeveless Jacket or Vest that is designed to offer the maximum warmth and protection during winter to the wearer. Its sleeveless design makes it highly popular amongst sports people, as it means they are able to move their arms freely and comfortable and are not restricted at all. Sometimes Gilets are referred to as puffer vests or body warmers depending on the features, style, material and design of the garment. The most popular design nowadays seems to be the sheepskin gilet as this offers wearers an increased amount of warmth.

All Gilets are not created equally, but you will find some common characteristics amongst them. Gilets tend to have a long zip down the front, that runs up to the neck and them also generally have two deep pockets on the front that are designed to keep the hands warm. Another prominent feature of the Gilet is that they tend to be padded, but if you want to wear one on a warmer day, you can choose one that is less padded. The design of this garment is so flexible that you can wear them over a T-shirt or Long-sleeved shirt, depending on the weather. If you specifically want one to protect you from colder weather, then you need to choose a gilet with a lot of padding and perhaps a hood as well. A Sheepskin Gilet is always a popular option as it looks great on ladies, and the soft material also gives extra warmth despite not usually having any padding.

A ladies sheepskin jacket with a fur collar is a very fashionable item these days, and can be purchased in many designs such as jackets with huge fur collars, jackets with fur-trimmed sleeves and pockets and many different colours as well. The advantage of a sheepskin jacket is that they are naturally warm, and will even keep you cosy on the worst of winter days. They are ultra-durable as well which is one thing to think about if you are worried about the cost of them, yes they do cost more than normal coats but if looked after properly will last you a long time. Sheepskin is actually naturally water resistant, so makes it the first choice if waterproofing is a consideration, however the jacket will need to be lightly shaken in order to remove any water from its surface to prevent it staining.
