The Many Pluses of coworking spaces

Traditional office spaces as a whole are falling by the wayside. With the rise in start-ups and the many entrepreneurs appearing on the scene, office space trends are changing rapidly. Where it used to be common for large scale corporations and well-established businesses that opted for offices, or afford them, entrepreneurs were either forced to apply for long-term leases or starting from scratch with a whole new office. Now however, warm shell offices and pre-made offices for rent are losing popularity, mostly because of the way they affect overhead costs and, the seeming permanence of the leases. Consultants, freelancers, small agencies and start-ups are all looking elsewhere for their office space needs. Enter the coworking space.

Shared office spaces are the next best thing to working from home. While working from home might seem like a convenient solution, it comes with its own problems. There’s the constant distraction from phones, the TV in the next room and, if you have a family or children, the distractions never seem to cease. The same problem is prevalent in coffee shops. You have waiters walking in an out, yelling orders across a room, people jostling for seats and holding conversations. Working at home and in a coffee shop have their pros and cons. At home, there is a lack of socialization while it’s at the other end of the spectrum in a coffee shop.

With a coworking office however, none of these problems exist. A coworking office is neither isolated, nor is it overly social. It truly is the best of both worlds. A shared coworking space allows for multiple companies, and people from different agencies and walks of life to work together in a single space. The best way to describe a coworking space is to call it a productive, creative and communicative work environment. Another great factor that attracts people to coworking spaces is the collaborative atmosphere engendered there. In a shared coworking office, anyone, regardless of company can work with others, bounce ideas around with their coworkers and brainstorm whenever they need.

Another great aspect of a coworking space is the flexibility. Not only are the workspace rentals low, but there are few, if any long-term contracts involved in a coworking space. There are plenty of additional services available, such as in-built cafeterias, regular events that promote teamwork and make for a fun workplace.

Shared coworking spaces also come with the advantage that is the free sharing of ideas. You find many like-minded people, who share your drive and your goals. It’s why a lot of shared offices end up as the birthplace of new ventures. Someone has an idea, it gets discussed, put together and soon, there’s a whole new business being born. Some coworking spaces also have incubator services on hand, where an idea pitched successfully can get funding as soon as it begins.

So there you have it, the many pluses of shared coworking spaces.
