Citizen Eco-Drive Perpetual Calendar Chronograph Men’s Watch

One of the first things that strike you when you view the Citizen Eco-Drive Perpetual Calendar Chronograph Watch, are the large Arabic numerals and the large hour and minute hands. Combine this with generous dial size and you could tell the time even in dim lighting conditions.

In particular, we looked at the Citizen chronograph eco drive Watch. The one we reviewed came with a gorgeous black dial face, a black leather strap and rose-gold tone accents that exuded a simple, yet elegant look.

Some would call it large; others will say it is standard. We think it is optimally sized. We of course refer to the watch dial. At 42 mm is larger than most watches out there. You won't have to squint to tell the time and it is not so large that it looks more like the Big Ben instead of a wrist watch.

As with most top-end Citizen automatic watches, that one too is powered by the now famous Eco-drive technology. The eco-drive is a technology that converts any light source into electrical energy. Citizen watch of course uses the eco-drive technology to recharge the watch battery.

The Mens citizen eco drive watch is equipped with a scratch resistant mineral crystal. We think the scratch resistant mineral crystal should be made compulsory on all watches. Men tend to put their hands in all sorts of tight places from domestic drains pipes to confined engine spaces. Result - they ruin more watches in a single month than a bunch of women will in a lifetime. The scratch resistance will ward off most minor scrapes with hardened steel - a big boon to most men.

Citizen promaster chronograph Watch that we reviewed has a round black dial with rose gold-tone hands and Arabic numeral hour markers. It had three sub-dials and the minute markers were located around the rim of the dial. The three sub-dials are used for keeping track of elapsed time for up to 24 hours, mode selection and a chronograph. The watch has an analog display.

We loved the look and feel of the black leather strap but were a tad disappointed that it wasn't genuine leather. However, the accented white stitching was lovely. The case and bezel is made of good stainless steel and has an adequate 'rich' feel to it.

Of course, the Ladies citizen watchess has a stop watch, a perpetual calendar and luminous hands and markers. The date display is at the 4 o'clock position. The date window is a tad too small; we often needed to squint a bit to read the date. A large date window would have made this watch just yummy. Its case is water tight for up to depths of 100 m. All in all, the Citizen Men's BL5476-00E Eco-Drive Two Tone Perpetual Calendar Chronograph Watch is a lovely package. This watch is definitely worth buying or gifting.
