The Brisbane Winter Carnival is scheduled each year during the months of May and June in the Brisbane, Queensland, with quality feature racing is administered by the Brisbane Racing Club, at both Doomben and Eagle Farm racecourses. Major Group One races include the Doomben 10,000 (1350m) at Doomben racecourse in May, while the other big event in the Brisbane is the Stradbroke Handicap (1400m) at Eagle Farm racecourse in June and the Group 2 Brisbane Cup (2400m) is also held at Eagle Farm racecourse in the month of June.

Doomben kicks off group racing in late April with the Group 2 Sir Byrne Hart Stakes meeting with Hollindale Stakes, now run as the Victory Stakes, while the Gold Coast racecourse hosts the Group 2 Hollindale Stakes, this is a big day of racing on the coast.

Feature racing then heads to the Brisbane for the next three Saturdays with three outstanding feature race meetings, where the Group 1 BTC Cup, Group 1 Doomben Cup and Group 1 Doomben 10,000 are the headline of the day.
