Flinders Street Station

This is a destination that you need to visit, even if you are not planning on taking the train. This train station is a beautiful structure that doubles as a functional building as well! This is certainly an iconic part of the city and should not be missed. This place is utilized by the locals so much that it has even led to the creation of its very own phrase. The term "meet you under the clocks" was added to the natives’ dialect to indicate the clocks depicting the time of departure of the trains. Remember to avoid the morning and evening rush and head there during more peaceful times.

The Eureka Tower

If you are tired of walking around or simply want a bird’s eye view of the city, then head to Eureka Tower. This building allows you to reach the eighty-eighth floor. This means that you will be privy to one of the most jaw dropping panoramas in the region. This should definitely be added to your list of things to do in Melbourne. Especially if you do not have a lot of time to spend in the city but still want to get an overall look, this is the place to go. It will certainly be an experience you will never forget. Of course, be warned, it is certainly not for those of the faint of heart or who are afraid of heights. It is well worth putting aside your fear, however, to be able to see the view.
