Maria Montessori was an Italian educator, physician, and innovator who was acclaimed for her educational method by which children naturally learn. She opened the first Montessori school in Rome on January 6th 1907. After that it was just a matter of time when these Montessori schools were opened in many parts of the countries. Today there are more than 22,000 Montessori schools in at least 110 countries worldwide.

What is Montessori Training?

When Maria Montessori started her first class there were 50-60 children, ages 3-6, most of them suffered from malnutrition and were scared to interact as they were coming from the slums of Florence, Italy. Montessori understood the situation of these children and focused more on day to day task, puzzles and other activities which would allow the children to develop more constructive ideas. This is because unlike the teenage group; this age group is also very sensitive and children of this age need to nurture in the desired environment. Maria Montessori created a prepared environment in which children were getting all the things as per their needs. From the furniture to the wall paints, everything was designed in a manner in which the children would adapt to the environment. With Montessori training, children will be having the willingness to learn. Through this process the children will start to interact and experience things at a stage which will develop their intellectual thinking.
