A nocturnal African safari
Any road tour to this splendid land starts with an early morning drive from the capital to Perinet and its strikingly refreshing national park. This is the first place to undertake a nocturnal hiking safari for an unusual encounter with lemurs and chameleons. These majestic animals are very rarely seen in the daytime and hence a quiet safari in the stillness of the night is perhaps the best way to find them. After some rest in the night, it is possible to undertake a morning safari in this park to see the other wildlife that it supports.
As tourism is still in the nascent stages, it is advisable to return to Tana for a decent and well deserved rest and food. All routes within this island begin and end at Tana and hence from almost all trips one needs to come back here to undertake a trip in any other direction. To reach the western coast of Madagascar the flight starts at Tana and terminates at Morondova. After reaching Morondova, you may proceed directly to the Kiridny Park via Avenue de Baobob. There are guided tours here to facilitate a great trip here. A Morondova night hiking trip is perhaps the best way to viewing many other local varieties of lemurs and other shy animals.
