2. Scubadiving in Mafia Island

The famous dive of Mafia Island is an interesting place to visit. From shallow to deep, the life of this coral drop that ends with a little wall is unique. It is the home of the Giant Grouper, Ribbon Tail Sting Ray and Cobia.

Utumbi (Kinasi Wall): Visitors can choose the deeper (-20m) looking Murrey Heel, Octopus and Grouperor they can take the shallower (-5/-10m) with the magnificent corals and the colorful fish.

Coral Garden: It has the vast variety of nudibranchs, clown fish, leaf fish, lion fish to satisfy visitors Macro Pictures. This is ideal for Night Dive.

Milimani: Another Night Dive Site this Shallow dive (-5m to -18m) is the perfect Tune up Dive if visitors who missing the water for a while.

Dindini: This amazing Wall (-8m to -25m) with spectacular arches and caves is the perfect dive for the Green Turtle, Napolen Fish and Friendly Potato Groupers. Hundreds of Yellow Snappers, Surgeon and Blue Trevally accompany your dive ending on top of the wall which is surrounded by Blue Trigger Fish at visitors safety stop.

Mafia Island and Its Islets

Mafia, along with the other islands lying off the east coast of Africa has shared an interesting history of the area. Chole and Kua are the main sites where visitors can see and feel the old life of the Swahili Coast.

If visitors like to have a full day around Mafia, they should take the Bweni Tour with a relaxing picnic at Kanga Beach.

Sailing around the Islets off the east coast of Mafia is very relaxing. A visit to Jibondo is a "must" to understand the life of the fishermen and their families.
