Domestic Tourist Push up Visitors count in Siem Reap
As per reports, the domestic tourism during the first half of the year has increased slightly owing to the arrival of the foreign traveller to the country in a bid to watch various attractions in Siem reap and all other parts of Cambodia.
Tourist arrival to Siem Reap
The reports suggest that the province received tourism of around 3.1 million during the first half of 2016. This number is an increase of 3% as compared to the total number of holidaymaker who arrived last year during the same period. The survey suggests that accounting this number, 2/3rd of the total tourists are domestic who arrived in Siem Reap from different parts of the country. Thus, in a total of 3.1 million tourists, approx. 2 million tourists are from Cambodia. Delving deep into the study, there are around 1.1 million traveller among which around 66% of those coming from ASEAN and Asia- Pacific Countries. However, this number suggests a decline of 1% comparatively.
A boost to the hotels in Siem Reap
The increase in the number of the visitors arriving to the city has provided a boost to the hotels in Siem Reap, thus providing a boost to the hotel industry of the province. During the times of April, some of the accomodations in the area even witnessed a full booking, thus indicating a good business for the hotels.
With the availability of the budget hotels in Siem Reap, the arriving visitors have a chance to save a few bucks on the accommodation, thus providing them an opportunity to the tourists to spend lavishly on other aspects of the tour.
