The year is sending and lots of events are on their way. Christmas and New Year’s Eve are one of them. If you’re one of the unlucky ones whose boss has bestowed upon you the grand responsibility of planning a corporate holiday party, keep on reading to know what you can do and how:

  1. Firstly, have you a rough idea of what you’re planning? Know what you’re looking for. If you’re going according to your budget, go for a lunch or brunch. Day time events are not as costly as night time events. But if budget is not the problem, you could do whatever seems like a good idea. Evening events can be more entertaining than day time events which is would be a good change for everyone in the company.
  2. Select your date and time. If you want everyone to enjoy whole heartedly, try aiming for the weekend. It is common for holiday parties to be held in the middle of December. No one feels like getting out of their cozy comforters and socks by the end of the month.
  3. Next you need to prepare your guest list, which is something you’ll need to ask your supervisor or boss for. Since it’s a company party, all the employees would be invited. But are you inviting your significant others? Are family members invited? Ask your boss and check your budget for the invitations but inviting your employees’ families or spouses in a nice gesture for the holidays.
  4. Decide on a theme if your colleagues are into that kind of thing. Everyone wants to have a good time after working so hard all year. Why not try new things?
  5. Send out your invitations a few weeks before the party, especially if you’re having a theme party as you would want people to put together their outfits for the evening. You may request an RSVP so you can know if someone is bringing someone along with them or flying solo for the evening.
  6. If your organization comprises of party animals, go in for hiring a DJ. Having an entertainment will always become more enjoyable for the guests. If you’re going for something classier and quieter, have a pianist or a jazz singer. Overall, the type entertainment you hire is very much dependent on your colleagues, your organization, and the type of work you do.
  7. Menu:

Ah. The menu. Decide on the best appetizers, main courses desserts and drinks. Food is one way to keep your party interesting if all else fails. People may forget the events of the day but the food will always be memorable!
