Vardaan Hospital was set up in 1995 with the aim of providing quality healthcare services. Our endeavour is to help people be healthy so that they can be productive members of society. We strive to provide the same quality of healthcare services to all strata of society.

The hospital is managed by Dr. R. K. Khandelwal and Dr. Rekha Khandelwal. They both have more than 30 years of experience in their respective fields of specialization. Other consultants available at the hospital also have vast experience in their fields.

Vardaan Hospital has also diversified into Geriatric care. A sister concern, Vardaan Senior Citizen Home, is a unique facility where medically dependent seniors are taken care for their medical and emotional needs. In due course of time a hospice to manage terminally ill cancer patients is planned.

Ovarian cyst refers to a tumor, or growth in the ovary or near the ovary. It can be filled with clear fluids, blood, thick fluid, pus, or can be solid. Treatment depends on the history of the patient and type of cyst. Mode of treatment can be:

  • Wait and watch.
  • By medicines.
  • By operation.

Most of the cysts which require operation can be done by laparoscopy (key-hole surgery). Laparoscopy is a convenient operation if done in expert hands. It is less painful to the patient and can be done by two to three small holes in the abdomen. Patient can walk about freely and without pain a few hours after the operation. In comparison to laparoscopy removing the cyst by open operation is difficult and painful. It also involves longer stay in the hospital.

Recovery time after laparoscopic surgery is quicker than open surgery. Patient is happy as there is less pain. Another advantage that this minimally obtrusive operation has over the normal surgery is that the recovery time is usually half of the time less than operation which is done big cuts. As there is less pain, patient return to their normal activities earlier.

There is a reduced probability for surgical infections and fewer medicines have to be taken.

A laparoscopic ovarian cystectomy is cosmetically a lot of appealing to a patient because the incisions (cuts) are very small, as small as 5 to 10mm.There are fewer stitches on the abdomen and so the pain of cutting stitches after few days is not there.

Laparoscopic ovarian cystectomy should be done under expert care. Dr. Rekha Khandelwal of Vardaan hospital is an expert in laparoscopic surgery and Vardaan Hospital, B-100 Malviya Nagar has full facilities for this procedure.
